Why Should Only Women Make Sacrifices in Society? – Fazeela Qazi Questions Social Norms

Veteran actress Fazeela Qazi has spoken out against the longstanding societal expectation that only women must make sacrifices. In a recent interview, she called this mindset unfair, stating that if a woman is good in character, she has every right to seek a life partner who is equally respectful and of good character.

Qazi highlighted that in our society, a “good woman” is often defined as someone who fulfills the expectations of every relationship, while her own desires and rights are frequently overlooked. She emphasized that this imbalance needs to be addressed.

She also criticized the tendency to tarnish a woman’s character at the slightest opportunity, noting that it’s become the easiest thing to do. “Unfortunately, even men are now being targeted in similar ways,” she added, stressing that blaming only the woman in cases of divorce or separation is simply wrong.

Raising a thought-provoking question, Qazi asked, “If men desire modest and virtuous women, are they themselves truly good and morally upright?” She called for a shift in societal attitudes and urged both men and women to be held to the same standards of integrity and responsibility.

Fazeela Qazi’s bold comments reflect a growing conversation around gender roles and fairness, challenging traditional views and advocating for more balanced relationships in society.
