Punjab Awards Scholarships to Asian U-16 Volleyball Champions

On July 22, 2025, Director General of Sports Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry announced a one-year scholarship program for the players of Pakistan’s Asian Under-16 Volleyball Championship-winning team, celebrating their historic triumph. The announcement came during a meeting in Lahore, where Chaudhry lauded the young athletes for their outstanding achievement.

Recognizing Excellence

Chaudhry personally congratulated the players, highlighting their dedication, discipline, and teamwork in securing the championship title with a remarkable victory over Iran in the final. As part of the initiative, players in the Platinum category will receive a monthly stipend of Rs70,000 to support their training and development. “This victory is a testament to their hard work and a proud moment for Pakistan,” Chaudhry said, emphasizing the Sports Department’s commitment to nurturing talent.

The Asian U-16 Volleyball Championship win marks a significant milestone for Pakistan’s youth sports, with the team showcasing exceptional skill and unity. Head coach Kifayatullah, along with other team officials, joined the meeting, where Chaudhry praised the coaching staff’s role in guiding the squad to success.
