In a separate development, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Yahya Afridi voiced concerns over the inadequate judicial infrastructure in remote districts during a high-level meeting on Friday. Emphasizing the need for a transparent and accessible judicial system, he called for collective efforts to drive reforms. The meeting, attended by representatives from the Peshawar High Court, Pakistan Bar Council, and Supreme Court Bar Association, focused on enhancing cooperation with bar associations and integrating them into future judicial projects.

Key decisions included appointing senior officers in each province to oversee implementation, with a focus on improving facilities for female litigants. Justice Afridi highlighted the need for better inter-agency coordination, noting past communication gaps that stalled progress. In a separate meeting with a lawyers’ delegation in Peshawar, he outlined upcoming reforms, including time limits for thirteen case categories and a commitment to ensuring legal representation for all litigants. The delegation also raised concerns about missing persons, which the CJP acknowledged as part of ongoing discussions.
