Pakistan and Iran Strengthen Ties with 13 New Agreements

During a visit by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Pakistan, the two nations signed 13 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements to enhance bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors. The signing ceremony took place at the Prime Minister’s House, attended by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, cabinet members, and the Iranian delegation.

The agreements cover diverse areas, including science and technology, information technology, tourism, culture, and heritage. Both countries also committed to collaboration in meteorology, climate change, and disaster management. Additional MoUs focused on maritime safety, firefighting, judicial assistance, and legal reforms, with a specific sub-agreement under the 2013 Air Safety Agreement.

Further strengthening economic and cultural ties, the nations signed MoUs to implement product standards and boost tourism and cultural exchanges. A joint statement was also agreed upon to advance the implementation of a Free Trade Agreement.

This comprehensive set of agreements reflects Pakistan and Iran’s commitment to deepening their partnership and fostering cooperation in critical areas of mutual interest.
