Pakistan and Bahrain Commit to Strengthen Security Cooperation During Mohsin Naqvi’s Visit to Manama

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi embarked on a one-day official visit to Manama, Bahrain, on Saturday, where he met with Bahraini Interior Minister General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa to reinforce bilateral ties in the area of security and law enforcement.

Upon his arrival at Bahrain International Airport, Minister Naqvi was warmly received and honored with a formal guard of honor at the Ministry of Interior’s headquarters in the historic Manama Fort.

The high-level dialogue focused on deepening cooperation across a range of shared security concerns, including counter-terrorism strategies, measures against human trafficking, and the ongoing fight against narcotics smuggling. Both ministers emphasized the urgency of addressing transnational crime and strengthening information-sharing mechanisms.

A key outcome of the meeting was a renewed commitment to activate and energize the Pakistan-Bahrain Joint Security Committee, which will serve as a structured platform for advancing mutual security goals.

The Bahraini Interior Minister expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s continued cooperation and praised Minister Naqvi’s visit as a significant step toward fortifying the already strong bilateral relationship.

Naqvi underscored the strategic importance of collaboration between the two countries’ interior ministries and invited his Bahraini counterpart to visit Pakistan for further dialogue and partnership-building.

The meeting was attended by senior Bahraini security and defense officials, including Deputy Interior Minister Major General Adel bin Khalifa bin Hamad and the Chief of Public Security. Pakistan’s Ambassador to Bahrain, Saqib Rauf, also participated in the discussions alongside other top diplomatic representatives.

Both sides expressed confidence that this engagement would lead to practical cooperation on regional security issues and help advance shared interests in peace, safety, and stability.
