RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed on Friday that the Pakistan-China relationship remains steadfast and unshakable despite evolving global and regional strategic challenges.

Speaking at a ceremony marking the 98th founding anniversary of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, the army chief described the two nations’ partnership as “unique, time-tested, and exceptionally resilient,” according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The event was attended by senior military officials from both countries. Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong served as the chief guest, accompanied by Defence Attaché Major General Wang Zhong, officials from the Chinese Embassy, and senior officers from Pakistan’s Army, Navy, and Air Force.

Field Marshal Munir welcomed the Chinese delegation with warmth and conveyed congratulations on behalf of the Pakistan Army. In his address, he lauded the PLA’s nearly century-long contribution to China’s national defense, modernization, and progress.

“Our friendship with China is unique, time-tested, and exceptionally resilient,” the COAS stated.
“The PLA and Pakistan Army are true brothers-in-arms. Our enduring partnership is central to promoting regional peace, stability, and securing shared strategic interests.”

He emphasized that the Pak-China strategic relationship is built on mutual respect, unwavering trust, and a common vision for a peaceful and prosperous region.

On the occasion, Ambassador Jiang expressed his gratitude to the COAS for hosting the celebration. He recognized the immense sacrifices made by Pakistan’s Armed Forces in combating terrorism and reiterated Beijing’s unwavering support for Islamabad in all strategic domains.

The ceremony not only celebrated the legacy of the PLA but also reaffirmed the depth of military and diplomatic cooperation between the two all-weather allies, underscoring their shared resolve to continue strengthening regional security and mutual prosperity.
