Karachi has reported another confirmed case of the Congo virus, raising fresh concerns among health authorities. The latest patient, 33-year-old Muhammad Irfan, was diagnosed at a private hospital after exhibiting classic symptoms such as high fever and bleeding from the mouth.

According to hospital sources, Irfan was brought in from Cattle Colony in Landhi and was immediately shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU). Medical staff noted that his condition is currently stable and showing signs of improvement.

In response to the new case, health officials are urging the public to exercise extreme caution, particularly when handling livestock or coming into close contact with animals that may be infected. They emphasized the importance of personal protective measures, especially with Eid-ul-Adha-related animal handling still recent.

This incident follows two Congo virus-related fatalities in Karachi just last month, highlighting the persistent threat of the virus in urban areas. Authorities continue to monitor the situation and stress the need for public cooperation to help prevent further spread.
