In a bid to modernize Pakistan’s immigration process and enhance the experience for international travelers, new immigration counters have been established at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport. The initiative follows directives from the Prime Minister and marks a significant step toward improving the country’s travel infrastructure.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) confirmed that the new system is specifically designed to minimize delays and provide a more efficient clearance process for foreign passengers. Among the key beneficiaries will be business delegations and international investors arriving in Pakistan.
According to an FIA spokesperson, the move aligns with broader national goals to strengthen economic ties through tourism, trade, and foreign direct investment. “We’re aiming to create a more welcoming environment for international visitors while ensuring a smoother re-entry experience for overseas Pakistanis,” the spokesperson stated.
The revamped immigration setup is expected to significantly reduce bottlenecks during peak travel times and improve Pakistan’s image as a travel-friendly destination. Authorities believe the enhanced infrastructure will not only benefit passengers but also contribute to long-term economic growth by facilitating easier access for foreign stakeholders.
This initiative reflects Pakistan’s commitment to opening its doors to global engagement, offering a more seamless and dignified arrival experience for all travelers.
