Ukraine Talks Take Center Stage in Kyiv and Washington as Diplomacy Intensifies

High-level diplomatic activity is underway today in both Washington, D.C. and Kyiv, with discussions centered on the ongoing war in Ukraine and broader transatlantic security.

In Washington, former U.S. President Donald Trump is scheduled to meet NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at the White House at 10:00 local time (15:00 BST). While the meeting is closed to the press, statements from both leaders may be issued later in the day.

Meanwhile, just a short distance away, U.S. Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth is holding talks with German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius. The agenda is expected to focus on NATO defense commitments and continued support for Ukraine.

Over in Kyiv, U.S. Special Envoy to Ukraine Keith Kellogg is meeting with Andriy Yermak, chief of staff to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The two are expected to discuss tightening sanctions against Russia and reviewing Ukraine’s long-term security needs.

These parallel meetings underscore the central role Ukraine continues to play in U.S. and European foreign policy. Stay tuned as we bring you updates and analysis throughout the day.
