Pakistan Security Forces Eliminate 14 India-Backed Militants in North Waziristan Operation

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani security forces successfully neutralized 14 militants linked to Indian-sponsored networks during a major intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan, the military’s media wing confirmed on Tuesday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was launched between June 2 and 3, 2025, following credible intelligence about the presence of hostile elements in the region. A fierce exchange of fire ensued, resulting in the elimination of all 14 terrorists.

The ISPR stated that the operation targeted individuals believed to be directly connected to India-backed proxy networks operating against Pakistan’s national security interests. Ongoing clearance and sanitization operations are underway in the area to ensure that no additional threats remain.

“This action reflects Pakistan’s unwavering resolve to root out terrorism in all its forms and ensure peace and stability within its borders,” the ISPR said in its statement.

Indian-Linked Militants Also Targeted in Balochistan Operations

Earlier, security forces carried out two separate IBOs in Balochistan, killing seven more militants affiliated with what the ISPR identified as the Indian-backed group “Fitna al-Hindustan.”

The first operation was conducted in the Mach area of Kachhi district on June 2. Five terrorists were killed after Pakistani troops engaged a suspected hideout following actionable intelligence.

In a second operation in the Margand area of Kalat district, troops dismantled a terrorist safe house and killed two more militants. A cache of weapons, explosives, and ammunition was recovered from both locations. These individuals were reportedly involved in multiple attacks aimed at destabilizing the province.

India’s Role in Regional Instability: DG ISPR

A day before the announcement of the operations, Director General of ISPR, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, addressed concerns about foreign interference in Pakistan’s internal affairs during a session of Hilal Talks 2025, a public engagement forum with educators.

“India and its proxies are the real threat to regional peace,” said Lt. Gen. Chaudhry. He reaffirmed that Balochistan is an inseparable part of Pakistan, not just geographically but economically and culturally.

He accused Indian intelligence agencies of financing, training, and supporting militant factions operating from Afghan territory. “These terrorists fear progress,” he stated, explaining that their primary objective is to hinder development in Balochistan.

The DG ISPR further emphasized that these foreign-sponsored militants are enemies of education and prosperity. “Once the youth are empowered with knowledge and economic opportunities, the influence of such elements will naturally collapse,” he added.

In a strong message to the youth of Balochistan, Lt. Gen. Chaudhry urged them to choose education over violence, stressing that the province holds the potential to become Pakistan’s most prosperous region.

“Pakistan’s armed forces are of the people and for the people. This bond is unbreakable. Long live Pakistan,” he concluded.
