Pakistan has firmly rejected recent claims made in India’s Lok Sabha regarding “Operation Sindoor” and other military assertions, calling them “false, provocative, and misleading.” In a strong response, the Foreign Office accused the Indian government of distorting facts and using conflict narratives for political gain.
Speaking to the media, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan criticized the Modi administration’s statements during the parliamentary debate, warning that such rhetoric threatens regional peace. He said India’s continued attempts to glorify conflict and rewrite recent history were not only factually incorrect but also dangerous.
‘India Acted Without Proof’
Khan stated that following the Pahalgam incident, India launched an unprovoked strike on Pakistan without conducting a credible investigation or presenting concrete evidence. “The world witnessed an attack based on assumptions, not facts, resulting in the tragic deaths of innocent civilians,” he said.
He emphasized that India failed in achieving its military objectives, while Pakistan’s swift and effective defensive response—including the neutralization of Indian aircraft—clearly demonstrated its military capability. “This is an undisputed reality that India is trying to cover up,” he added.
Third-Party Role in Ceasefire Acknowledged
Khan also highlighted that a third-party mediator played a key role in facilitating the ceasefire after tensions escalated earlier this year. He criticized New Delhi for rejecting Islamabad’s early call for an independent probe and for choosing confrontation over diplomacy. “India played judge, jury, and executioner,” he noted, pointing to its refusal to cooperate on investigations related to the Pahalgam incident.
‘Operation Mahadev’ and Other Claims Dismissed
The spokesperson dismissed Indian Home Minister’s claims about “Operation Mahadev” as entirely baseless, accusing the Indian leadership of spreading disinformation for domestic political mileage. He also questioned the timing of alleged militant killings linked to the Pahalgam case, calling it a suspicious coincidence that occurred just before the parliamentary debate.
Debunking ‘New Normal’ and Nuclear Rhetoric
Khan denounced the Indian narrative around a so-called “new normal” in regional dynamics and accusations of “nuclear blackmail” by Pakistan. He said these claims are both inaccurate and self-serving.
“For Pakistan, the only acceptable ‘normal’ is mutual respect, sovereignty, and compliance with international norms as outlined in the UN Charter,” he stated. He further clarified that Pakistan’s measured military response in May 2025 relied solely on conventional capabilities, disproving India’s nuclear alarmism.
Indus Waters Treaty and Treaty Violations
Pakistan also strongly objected to recent Indian statements regarding the Indus Waters Treaty, warning that any attempt to undermine this long-standing agreement signals India’s disregard for international commitments.
“Tampering with treaty obligations reflects India’s willingness to violate globally accepted norms,” Khan remarked.
A Warning for Regional Stability
Concluding his remarks, the spokesperson warned that India’s reliance on misinformation and aggressive nationalism could destabilize the broader South Asian region. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s stance in favor of peace, dialogue, and regional cooperation—while also making it clear that Pakistan will not hesitate to respond to future provocations.
“Pakistan remains committed to peaceful coexistence, but any repeat of aggression will be met with a resolute and proportionate response,” Khan stated.
