Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has committed to promptly delivering a promised financial reward and support to national boxing champion Shahzaib Rind, addressing a delay that sparked public concern. The announcement follows an apology from Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, who expressed regret over the government’s failure to provide timely support to the celebrated athlete.
The issue came to light when Rind, taking to X, hinted at a “miscommunication” regarding the delayed reward. In response, Tarar issued a heartfelt apology, stating, “Sports heroes like Shahzaib Rind are our pride, and we deeply value your contributions to Pakistan’s honor. We sincerely regret this unjustified delay and the inconvenience it caused.”
Tarar emphasized that Prime Minister Sharif has taken serious notice of the matter, ensuring immediate action to resolve it. “The Prime Minister has directed that such oversights must not occur again,” Tarar added, underscoring the government’s commitment to supporting its athletes.
Rind’s achievements have brought significant recognition to Pakistan, and the government’s swift response reflects its intent to honor his contributions. The Prime Minister’s intervention aims to ensure that national heroes like Rind receive the recognition and support they deserve without delay.
