After almost ten years of highs, lows, and shared milestones, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have quietly ended their relationship. According to sources close to the couple, the split was amicable and free of drama—but no less emotional.
The longtime duo, who got engaged in 2019 and share a daughter, Daisy Dove, 4, had been facing increasing tension in recent months. An insider revealed, “They’ve been drifting apart for a while. The split wasn’t sudden—it’s been building for some time.”
While the news may come as a surprise to fans, those close to the couple say the writing was on the wall. Perry, 40, has been on her Lifetimes tour for much of the year, and the pair have been living separately during that time. She’s been keeping herself busy with work and is currently renting out one of their properties—the Westcott Estate in Montecito, California.
“Originally, Katy and Orlando intended to make that home their family base,” the source noted. “But with her tour and everything else, those plans just faded away.”
Despite the emotional toll, Perry is said to be somewhat relieved. “Katy is, of course, heartbroken, but grateful not to have to go through another divorce,” the source shared. Her 2012 split from comedian Russell Brand was notoriously difficult, and this time around, she’s focused on moving forward in a healthier space.
Perry and Bloom’s love story began in January 2016 when they were spotted mingling at Golden Globes afterparties. After a brief breakup in 2017, they rekindled their romance in 2018 and became engaged on Valentine’s Day the following year. Just a year later, Perry announced she was expecting, and the couple welcomed their daughter in August 2020.
Bloom, 47, also shares a son, 14-year-old Flynn, with his ex-wife, model Miranda Kerr.
Though their romantic relationship has ended, those close to them believe the two will remain committed co-parents and continue to support each other in their individual journeys.
