Renowned actor Kaiser Nizamani recently recounted a frightening incident during a private flight from Lahore to Karachi, revealing how a potential tragedy was narrowly avoided thanks to the pilot’s swift response.
In a heartfelt Instagram post on Saturday, the veteran actor shared a video along with a photo of his boarding pass, describing how the aircraft had to abruptly abort takeoff. Just moments before lifting off from Lahore Airport, the plane came to a screeching halt due to a bird strike.
“The captain slammed the brakes just seconds before takeoff—an action that possibly saved hundreds of lives,” said the 58-year-old actor.
Authorities later confirmed that the emergency stop was caused by a bird colliding with the plane.
Nizamani expressed his immense relief and gratitude toward the pilot’s calm and timely decision-making, stressing that had the aircraft taken off, the situation might have ended in disaster.
He went on to issue a strong public message, urging people living near airports to stop feeding birds—especially meat and grains—which significantly raise the chances of such hazardous bird strikes.
“This careless behavior puts human lives at risk,” Nizamani emphasized in his video.
Grateful for having avoided what could have been a fatal incident, he remarked,
“Thank God we were saved from what could’ve been a serious accident. The pilot’s control of the situation made all the difference.”
However, Nizamani didn’t hold back in voicing his dissatisfaction with how the aftermath was handled. He criticized the lack of communication at the airport, pointing out that passengers were left waiting for hours without updates.
“I’ve been here since 8 in the morning, and by 6 in the evening, we still didn’t know when we’d be flying out,” he said, adding, “Even international airports don’t keep people hanging like this.”
Despite the frustration, the actor’s post serves as both a warning and a reminder of how quickly things can go wrong—and how critical it is to support air safety by avoiding behaviors that invite danger.
