Tajik social media sensation and singer Abdu Rozik was detained at Dubai International Airport early Saturday morning, his management confirmed to Khaleej Times.
Rozik, 21, was taken into custody at approximately 5:00am after arriving from Montenegro. While authorities have not officially disclosed the reason behind the detention, a representative from his management team acknowledged that it was connected to “allegations of theft.”
“We are aware that he has been taken into custody on allegations of theft,” the representative stated, declining to provide further details pending an official investigation.
Standing just over three feet tall due to a growth hormone deficiency, Rozik has become one of the region’s most recognizable online personalities. He holds a UAE Golden Visa and has resided in Dubai for several years.
Rozik rose to prominence through his music, viral social media content, and appearances on popular reality shows such as Bigg Boss 16. In 2024, he debuted as a boxer at Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena and expanded his ventures internationally by launching his restaurant brand, Habibi, in the United Kingdom.
That same year, Rozik was also questioned by India’s Enforcement Directorate in connection with a money laundering case involving a hospitality company. He was not named as a suspect in that investigation.
As of now, Dubai authorities have not issued a public statement regarding his current legal status.
