Renowned Pakistani actor and producer Humayun Saeed recently opened up about the personal and professional challenges he has faced in the spotlight, particularly the criticism and hate that have followed him since the start of his career.
In a recent television interview, Humayun reflected on the early days of his journey in the film industry. He revealed that negative commentary began right from his debut, despite his efforts and genuine connection to the roles he portrayed.
“I’ve been on the receiving end of criticism from the beginning,” he shared. “When I starred in Inteha as a college student, I was actually a student in real life too. But I was still age-shamed. I remember reading an article that said I looked too old for the part.”
He added with honesty, “Even when I was young, I didn’t have a boyish face—I always looked like a man. That’s just how I’ve been.”
Despite the early backlash, Humayun Saeed has risen to become one of Pakistan’s biggest entertainment figures. With a strong following of over 7.6 million fans on Instagram, his career spans decades of blockbuster dramas and box office hits including Mere Paas Tum Ho, Dil Lagi, Mehndi, Kabhi Kabhi Pyar Mein, and Punjab Nahi Jaungi.
As the driving force behind the successful production company Six Sigma Plus, Saeed has also made a major impact behind the scenes. His latest film, the romantic comedy Love Guru, has proved his continued box office appeal by grossing an impressive 77 crore rupees.
Looking ahead, the star is set to make a return to television, much to the excitement of fans eagerly awaiting his next project. Through all the highs and lows, Humayun Saeed remains a testament to resilience and longevity in Pakistan’s entertainment industry.
