Renowned television personality and actor Humaira Asghar Ali was laid to rest today in Lahore’s Model Town, following funeral prayers held in the local Q block. The actor’s body had been transported from Karachi the previous day, accompanied by close family members including her brother and brother-in-law.
Humaira’s uncle, Muhammad Ali, shared memories of their regular phone conversations and her visits to their home in Lahore. He expressed sorrow over the lack of contact in recent months, noting that they were unaware of her exact residence in Karachi. He recalled that Humaira had been determined to pursue a career in showbiz, a decision her parents did not fully support. Despite this, she remained committed and passionate about her work.
According to her brother Naveed Asghar, the family faced delays in retrieving her body due to required legal procedures. They had been in touch with both law enforcement and a welfare organization for three days before receiving her remains.
Humaira was discovered deceased in her rented apartment in Karachi’s Defence Phase 6 on July 8. Police reports indicate she had been living alone since relocating from Lahore in 2018. SSP South Mahzoor Ali confirmed that she had stopped paying rent in 2024, leading the landlord to take legal action. When court officials arrived to serve a notice, they found the apartment locked. Upon forcing entry, they discovered her lifeless body.
Humaira Asghar Ali was known for her vibrant screen presence in the reality show Tamasha Ghar and her role in the 2015 film Jalaibee. Her untimely passing has left a deep void in the entertainment community, which continues to mourn her loss.
Her family and friends now remember her as a talented, independent woman who followed her dreams despite challenges, leaving behind a legacy of artistic passion and determination.
