Five Pakistani Players Reach Semifinals of Asian Junior Squash Championship

KARACHI – Pakistan’s young squash talents continued their dominant performance at the 32nd Asian Junior Squash Championship, with five players advancing to the semifinals following an impressive showing in the quarterfinals.

In the Boys Under-19 category, Abdullah Nawaz delivered a clinical performance, defeating Hong Kong’s Wong Wing Kuen in straight sets with a commanding scoreline of 11-4, 11-4, 11-6 to secure his spot in the semifinals.

The Boys Under-15 division saw two Pakistani players move into the final four. Top seed Nauman Khan comfortably overcame India’s Harshal Rana 11-6, 11-5, 11-7, while Ahmed Rayan Khalil dispatched Malaysia’s Armann Merzha bin Ashraff with a dominant 11-7, 11-3, 11-3 victory.

In the Boys Under-13 category, Pakistan’s top seed Sohail Adnan made quick work of India’s Abhyuday Arora, sealing his place in the semifinals with a comprehensive 11-2, 11-8, 11-2 win.

On the girls’ side, Mahnoor Ali impressed in the Under-13 category, outplaying India’s Anika Kalanki 11-6, 11-2, 11-3 to reach the semifinals. However, in the Girls Under-15 division, Sehrish Ali was eliminated after falling to Malaysia’s Siti Syaurah A Sufian in straight games, 4-11, 7-11, 2-11.

With five players now in the semifinals across multiple age groups, Pakistan remains in strong contention to secure multiple medals and make a significant mark at this year’s championship.
