“All Good Things Come to an End” – Callum Wilson Bids Farewell to Newcastle United

Callum Wilson has officially confirmed his departure from Newcastle United, marking the end of a memorable chapter in his career. The 33-year-old striker, whose contract expired last week, leaves St James’ Park after failing to reach an agreement on a new deal.

Wilson joined Newcastle from Bournemouth in 2020 for around £20 million and went on to score 49 goals in 130 appearances during his five-year stay on Tyneside. Though his final season was marred by injury, limiting him to just 22 appearances and a single goal, Wilson remained a fan favorite throughout his time at the club.

In an emotional statement to supporters, Wilson said:
“To all you Magpies, it’s time to say goodbye after an unbelievable few years at the Toon. Thank you for everything. We stood strong together through the highs and some lows to help the club experience new heights.”

Newcastle United paid tribute to the former England international, thanking him for playing a “huge part in our success in recent years.” His contributions helped the team push forward in the Premier League and re-establish themselves as a competitive force.

Wilson, who wore the iconic number 9 shirt, said it was an honor to be part of the club’s legacy:
“I am so proud to have worn the iconic number 9 shirt and to have added a little more history to it. Scoring at the Gallowgate end really is as special as they say.”

Despite battling persistent injuries, including back and hamstring issues last season, Wilson’s impact at Newcastle is undeniable. Now a free agent, he is attracting interest from several Premier League clubs and has reported options in Major League Soccer as well.

“All good things come to an end,” Wilson reflected. “But there’s no doubt Newcastle United will always have a place in mine and my family’s hearts.”

As he prepares for the next step in his career, Wilson leaves behind a legacy of dedication, goals, and passion that earned him admiration from both fans and teammates alike.
