Railways Ministry Orders High-Level Probe into Islamabad Express Derailment

The Ministry of Railways has launched a high-level investigation following the derailment of multiple coaches of the Islamabad Express near Kala Shah Kaku, an incident that left several passengers injured and disrupted rail traffic on the main line.

According to an official statement, the Federal Government Inspector of Railways has been tasked with leading the inquiry. The inspector will visit the crash site, assess the damage, and identify the root cause of the derailment. The investigation aims to produce a detailed report with actionable recommendations to help prevent similar accidents in the future.

The mishap occurred when four coaches of the Islamabad Express went off the tracks, and five of them overturned, causing chaos and halting operations on a major rail route. Emergency services responded promptly, and rescue efforts were carried out to aid injured passengers and clear the railway line.

The ministry emphasized that passenger safety remains a top priority and that strict measures will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry. The outcome of the investigation is expected to play a crucial role in shaping future safety protocols and infrastructure improvements within Pakistan Railways.
