The price of chicken has increased in several cities across the country.
In Peshawar, the price of live chicken has gone up by Rs. 10 per kg, bringing the new rate to Rs. 425 per kg.
In Lahore, chicken rates have increased by Rs. 5 per kg, while chicken meat has become Rs. 7 more expensive. The wholesale rate for live broiler chicken is now Rs. 389 per kg, and the retail rate is Rs. 403 per kg. Broiler chicken meat is being sold at Rs. 584 per kg, and the price of eggs has increased by Rs. 1 per dozen, now costing Rs. 271.
Just a day earlier in Lahore, the wholesale rate for live broiler chicken was Rs. 384 per kg, the retail rate was Rs. 398 per kg, chicken meat was Rs. 577 per kg, and a dozen eggs cost Rs. 270.
In Multan, the price of live broiler chicken has also increased by Rs. 10 per kg, and chicken meat has become Rs. 15 per kg more expensive. The wholesale rate for live broiler chicken in Multan is now Rs. 364 per kg, while the retail rate is Rs. 378 per kg. Chicken meat is being sold at Rs. 545 per kg.
Yesterday in Multan, the wholesale rate for live chicken was Rs. 354 per kg, the retail rate was Rs. 368 per kg, chicken meat was Rs. 530 per kg, and eggs were priced at Rs. 268 per dozen.
This price surge reflects an ongoing upward trend in poultry prices across major cities.
