A violent altercation at the estate of political figure Khawar Farid Maneka in Pir Ghani, Pakpattan, has led to the arrest of his son, Musa Maneka, following an alleged shooting that left one man injured.
The incident reportedly unfolded after a dispute over a seemingly minor household issue. According to police and eyewitness accounts, Musa became furious upon seeing bedsheets left outside a room. The argument escalated quickly, and Musa allegedly opened fire on a domestic employee, Ali Bahadur.
Emergency responders rushed the wounded victim to a nearby hospital, where he is receiving treatment. His condition is reportedly stable.
Pakpattan police confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed under Section 324 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which pertains to attempted murder. The FIR was lodged by the victim’s father, Manzoor Ahmed, who detailed how Musa’s anger over the misplaced bedsheets led to the violent act.
Ali Bahadur, the injured employee, told authorities that he attempted to flee after the argument but was pursued and shot by Musa. The suspect was quickly taken into custody and is currently under investigation.
Musa Maneka is the son of Khawar Farid Maneka and his ex-wife Bushra Bibi, who is now married to former Prime Minister Imran Khan. The case has drawn significant public and media attention due to the high-profile nature of the individuals involved.
Authorities say further investigation is underway and that justice will proceed according to the law, regardless of the suspect’s political connections.
