Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, issued a sharp warning to India over its recent military posture and rhetoric, cautioning that any act of aggression against Pakistan would invite an immediate and forceful retaliation.
Speaking at the National Defence University (NDU) in Islamabad during an address to graduates of the National Security and War Course, Field Marshal Munir strongly criticized India’s reaction to the failure of Operation Sindoor, calling its explanations “illogical” and “strategically flawed.”
Nuclear State Cannot Be Provoked Lightly
In remarks released by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief stressed that India underestimates the grave risks of provoking a nuclear-capable country. He reiterated that Pakistan’s defense forces are fully prepared to counter any form of aggression and will not hesitate to respond in kind to any threat to national sovereignty or the safety of its people.
“Any misadventure will be met with a swift and resolute reply, stronger than the enemy expects,” he stated firmly.
Operation Sindoor: A Strategic Failure
Field Marshal Munir openly criticized India’s conduct and analysis following the unsuccessful Operation Sindoor, accusing New Delhi of making baseless allegations and refusing to acknowledge Pakistan’s strategic planning and operational capabilities.
He added that India’s attempts to shift blame or involve other countries in what are essentially bilateral military tensions show a lack of strategic clarity and maturity. According to him, Pakistan’s regional partnerships are built on mutual respect and diplomacy, unlike India’s “self-serving and narrow-minded” approach in international affairs.
Call for Professional Excellence Amid Evolving Threats
In his address, Munir emphasized the importance of professional competence, civil-military coordination, and a deep understanding of the changing nature of warfare. He praised NDU’s role in nurturing future leadership and highlighted that warfare today is not won through media spin, imported weaponry, or political slogans, but through discipline, operational readiness, and belief in national principles.
Regional Peace at Risk Due to Hindutva Politics
Field Marshal Munir also criticized India’s growing aggression, driven by its Hindutva ideology, which he claimed has alienated many of its neighbors. He warned that India’s efforts to project itself as a regional security leader are increasingly being challenged, both regionally and internationally.
He concluded by reiterating that Pakistan is a responsible nuclear state and a stabilizing force in South Asia. However, he cautioned that if India’s provocations continue, the consequences could be severe — and India alone would be responsible for any escalation.
“Wars are not won through arrogance,” Munir said. “They are won through strategic depth, unity, and unwavering resolve.”
