Health Minister Calls for Immediate Action to Strengthen Blood Safety and Hospital Operations

Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal emphasized the urgent need to enhance blood safety and healthcare infrastructure during his official visit to the Regional Blood Centre and IHITC Hospital on Monday.

According to the Ministry of Health, the visit aimed to assess the current status of both facilities and outline a path toward improving their functionality and services.

Push for Safe and Reliable Blood Supply

During his inspection, Minister Kamal stressed the importance of a safe and sustainable blood supply system. He directed relevant authorities to prepare a comprehensive operational plan to fully activate the Regional Blood Centre and ensure it is equipped to meet modern standards for blood collection, testing, and distribution.

“Every necessary measure must be taken to make the Regional Blood Centre operational and to guarantee the availability of safe blood to those in need,” he stated.

Revitalizing IHITC Hospital

Minister Kamal also turned his attention to the IHITC Hospital, which currently houses 270 beds. He called for immediate action to bring the hospital into full service, ensuring that it becomes a fully functional healthcare facility catering to the public.

Commitment to Public Health

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to public health, Kamal highlighted the broader goal of upgrading government hospitals and providing high-quality care across the country. He noted that revitalizing regional medical centers and blood banks is a key step toward building a more resilient and accessible healthcare system.

“The government is committed to ensuring quality healthcare services and is taking decisive steps to improve medical facilities across the board,” he added.

The minister’s visit underscores the administration’s ongoing efforts to prioritize health infrastructure, particularly in critical areas such as blood safety and hospital readiness.
